Latinos Making a Move

For years, we questioned why a lot of immigrants were not becoming a citizen of the United States, if they had the opportunity to do so. There is a simple answer, however, and that answer was that there was not a push, but now there is. Recent data shows that around 8.8 eligible immigrants are aiming to become naturalized citizens so they can vote against Republican front runner, Donald Trump. These immigrants feel that they should stand up for themselves, so they have decided to become a citizen so they can vote. Many of these immigrants also wish to defend Obama’s new immigration law that will allow aid for up to four million immigrants.

I was surprised and not surprised at the same time when I read about all of these immigrants trying to become citizens.  I guess they really needed something strong to convince them to become citizens. There is a sense of pride, being Hispanic myself, in all of this. Knowing that we are all uniting together to prevent something bad from happening to this country and all of the immigrants in it. Granted, not all immigrants deserve help because there are some bad ones, but the majority of them are hard working people who came here to live a better life.
